Job description
The Volunteer, Project Support and Events Management will be involved in supporting the day-to-day operations of key regional projects, initiatives, and events coordinated by the Europe Support Centre. They will assist project managers with everyday tasks and provide ideas to the team. They will be exposed to a variety of funding operations, including European Union grants, funding applications for members, and reporting processes. This position involves a good deal of interaction with volunteers across our National Scout Organizations. Moreover, it will enable the volunteer to experience event management first-hand by attending events and assisting project managers in their fieldwork.
The volunteer will participate in various projects led by the Europe Support Centre, with a particular focus on the Region's strategic priorities. Events to support will be identified based on emerging needs, and support will be provided to project managers and planning teams in the logistics and delivery of flagship events of the Region, including:
The Agora: a youth empowerment event led by Rovers, for Rovers.
The Academy: a capacity-building training for youth workers in various themes.
Study visits from other Scout organisations to Belgium.
Network meetings and youth exchanges.
The volunteer will play a key role in enabling the creation of new local projects that advance the values of the European Solidarity Corps and Scouting. Our organisation is implementing the World Scouting Grants, which enable youth organisations involved in Scouting to apply for and implement local/national projects that promote solidarity and aim to create a culture of peace.
Expected start date: As of late February / early March 2026
Duration: 12 months - the duration of the placement can be negotiated depending on the availability of the candidate
Job requirements
Role & Responsibilities
Support in the implementation of different projects, events, and initiatives of the Europe Support Centre by:
Supporting communication with partner National Scout Organizations (NSOs).
Providing technical support on the online funding portals, collecting and completing information on partner NSOs and their backgrounds.
Acquiring a basic understanding of donors' requirements to provide administrative support during reporting.
Supporting the Grant Management and Project Management functions of the Europe Support Centre through various administrative tasks as needed.
Participating in international events of the World Scout Bureau, assisting in designing and implementing the events assigned to them.
Developing online content and materials in relation to the events, project, and funding operations supported (e.g. Infopack for participants, etc.).
Supporting the implementation of educational activities based on the event needs, as well as personal interests and expertise.
Supporting the design and analysis of evaluations related to projects, events, and initiatives to assist in reporting and knowledge management.
Desired Profile (inclusive of European Solidarity Corps programme requirements)
The candidate should be:
Aged between 18 and 30 years
Ability to work well individually and as part of a team
Demonstrable computer literacy
Ability to use Microsoft Office in a business environment
Internet in a business environment (e.g., online collaborative tools)
Project management tools and software online
Ability to effectively manage time, multitask, and prioritise projects to meet established deadlines
Continuous learner: You want to maximise your experience with us and learn as much as possible
Ability to proactively seek information to complete a project and be able to maintain a friendly attitude in a high-pressure environment
A strong interest in working in a multicultural environment
Attention to detail
Good written and verbal communication skills in English
Nice-to-haves
Prior experience working in an office environment.
Familiarity with funded projects.
Ability to communicate in French.
Knowledge of the Scout Movement and experience working with volunteers.
Be willing to share their experience through visibility materials (such as testimonials, interviews, and related communications) to support donor visibility and promote the organisation's work.

The volunteer will be provided with:
